Outaouais - This course is for employer or worker who want to learn how to fell trees safely and accurately. Composed in a 16-hour session (2 days) divided into 8 hours of theory and 8 hours of practice (in the forest), the group will be split in two for the practical part.

- A number of 7 participants is required to minimize participation costs

Objective
- Safety: Felt trees safely, learn to locate dangers and, if possible, eliminate them, as well as maintain your chain saw for safe work.
- Efficiency: Work efficiently, plan your operations, your actions to perform better for longer.
- Quality: Carry out better quality work by adopting methods which will allow us, for example, to obtain beautiful logs free of torn fibers, to preserve regeneration as much as possible and even to avoid equipment breakdown.

- Personal protective equipment;
- Location of safety devices on the chain saw;
- Felling aid tools;
- The feller safety code (DISEP);
- Basic felling techniques;
- Treatment of snags and certain problem trees;
- Chainsaw sharpening and maintenance techniques (overview only).
MANDATORY PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR THE COURSE
- A safety helmet that complies with standard CAN/CSA-Z94.1 and EN 397 and whose fixing crown is well adjusted;
- Safety glasses or face shield
- Hearing protectors (shells or plugs) complying with standard CAN/CSA-Z94.2;
- Work gloves or one-finger mittens with good grip;
- Pants certified according to standard CAN/BNQ 1923-450-M91, category A; EN 381-5 and ASTM F3325 category A, C or D
- Safety boots for chain saw users bearing the symbol:
It is advisable that participants obtain them after the theoretical day in order to benefit from the advice to avoid unnecessary purchases.
If you already have the protective equipment, bring it to the training to have its conformity validated.
Leaving or canceling a course
The Center reserves the right to cancel a course if the number of registrations is insufficient or for circumstances beyond its control.
Refund Policy
Full refund if you cancel 10 business days before the course takes place. No refund after this period. Full refund if the course is canceled.
